The Burnett Valley was first inhabited in 1842 with the arrival of the first settlers. There are many places of interest in the area from the beautiful world famous Bunya Mountains to historic Ringsfield House in Nanango. While around the town Murals are painted on the walls And there are various life size statues carved from wood.  All adding to the beauty of the area

Nanango offers excellent facilities including 2 primary schools, and a high school, 4 medical practices, a hospital,2 veterinary practices and good shopping. Most sports are catered for including a very good swimming pool, lawn bowls and a golf course
